Five for Friday

Happy Saturday!! I am {quickly} linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her weekly linky party!

1. We had a snow day yesterday! Woooo! It was a much needed mental break!

2. I posted a new product this week! My students were working on decimals and we needed a lot of practice with place value, so I made this sorting game with QR codes! I also made 6 worksheets to go with it!

3. We are in standardized test prep mode full force now. I am currently working on 2 charts and activities to help my students answer constructed response questions based on a text and speculative writing prompts. Here's what I have so far! (I didn't create these acronyms.. atleast I don't think I created ROPE? It was OPEN but my kids aren't there yet and they really need to work on restating the question.. so I made it ROPE, lol.)

4. I spent too much of my snowday looking for fun iPad wallpapers (coolest kid ever, right?). Then I came across a website & became quickly obsessed!! Make It.. Create. She has so many adorable {free} iPad and iPhone backgrounds, I think I saved about 20 to my iPad! 

5. Ok this isn't really school related either, but I just purchased some adorable jewelry from Urban Peach Boutique (an amazing Pinterest find!). They make such great and fashionable jewelry and they are very reasonably priced! Here's what I ordered:

And I am patiently waiting for the boyfriend watches to be back in stock! How cute are they? I want the rose gold one!

This coming week is super crazy (getting observed by my principal.. report cards and IEP goals are due.. conferences the week after..). So I hope you forgive me for not having a Special Needs Sunday tomorrow =( I will try really hard to post it next Sunday! Thanks for understanding!!

March Currently

It's that time again.. a new month, means a new Currently from Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade!

I should be in bed because it is almost 1 am.. but I can't resist a Currently! So here goes...

As you can see, we did some apartment decor shopping today. However, I really wish I had someone with that stylish "eye" to help me out! I always get nervous that what I pick is too much, or clashes, or just doesn't work. But I doooo like my new carpet =)

As for my like, love, hate: I like arts & crafts (not very exciting, I know).. I love apps (duh!).. and I hate alarm clocks (my enemyy).

I'm working on a new product with QR codes, I hope I can post it tomorrow! Here is a sneak peak!

Five for Friday.. and a little motivation!

This was supposed to be posted last night.. but that doesn't really work out when you pass out on your couch at 8pm. Pleease tell me I'm not the only one who can't function on Friday nights!

Anyway, as usual, I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her amazing Five for Friday Linky Party!

 1. My math students are currently split into two groups: one group is working on decimals and one group is working on money. Luckilyyyyy.. these overlap in a few ways! So one of my whole group lessons this week was Adding & Subtracting Decimals, and above is anchor chart we made to help us!

2. As I said in my last post, my language arts students are working on Author's Purpose (aka Author's PIE). On Tuesday and Wednesday, we sorted through different genre cards and placed them on this chart. It was a great way to talk about all of the different genres we haven't covered in the class and the kids were really engaged!

3. I can't believe it is MARCH! I'm super excited about spring weather coming & all that.. but March is ridiculously full of report cards, conferences, IEP Goals & Objectives.. AH! Spring Break in the beginning of April is going to be much needed.

4. I've seen this video floating around the blog world and I finally watched it the other night. It's adorable!! It is very motivational and the kid is super cute. If you haven't already watched it, do it!

5. Today is the last day to enter Alyssha's giveaway over at Teaching and Tapas! You seriously don't want to miss out on this one and there are soo many chances to win! Get moving!
